This is the second week in a 5-week yoga series ( April 14-May 12) at the Sugar Creek Branch in New Palestine.

Get a tax break for helping the library. Drop off your gently used books, DVDs, video game discs and music CDs. A volunteer will assist when someone rings the bell. Please request your tax receipt at the same time.

Talk to Hancock County's official historian, Joe Skvarenina, about the past. He will be available for informal conversations on local history.

Kids, K-5, get ready for "National Jelly Bean Day" by celebrating all things jelly bean! Create a jelly bean tower. Then test how well you know all the flavors of jelly beans.

Kids, grades K-5, celebrate Earth Day. Create sun paintings using solar dye. Then make critters out of plants. Dress for a mess, as the dye will stain clothing.

Kids in grades K-5, ready to be slimed? We'll provide the ingredients, you make three varieties of slimes: regular, floam, and even edible!

Research your ancestors in our computer lab with other genealogy enthusiasts. Discuss strategies for finding specialized information, or receive assistance using the library's free Ancestry.com and HeritageQuest databases.

The Other Alcott, by Elise Hooper, is the featured selection for April's discussion in New Palestine. We encourage you to read the novel in advance. Please ask for a copy at the front desk.

Debate between Hancock County commissioner candidates, open to the public.  Candidates participating are Jeannine Gray (District 1) unopposed, Mary Noe vs. Randy Sorrell (District 2), and Jim Shelby vs. Will Ronan (District 3).
