"Reading is Sweet" during the Hancock County Public Library's winter reading club. Families, teens, and adults are encouraged to find their sweet spot in the comfort of books during February's frigid weather.

For babies up to 24 months and a caregiver (Jan. 8-Feb. 12), join a storytime that combines stories, rhymes, songs and fingerplays.

This is the third week in a 5-week yoga series (12/30/17-1/27/18) at the Sugar Creek Branch in New Palestine for both beginning and advanced students. Susan Goodart, a certified yoga teacher and fitness adviser, instructs the classes.

Get a tax break for helping the library. Drop off your gently used books, DVDs, and music CDs at the side delivery entrance (northeast corner) of the library in Greenfield between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Paul McNeil will lead a discussion of Yaa Gyasi’s novel, Homegoing. Participants are encouraged (but not required) to read the book in advance. Ask for a copy at the library’s information desk.

Kids ages 3-6, artist Deborah Reynolds offers a creativity class each month. Learn about artists; talk about simple concepts, such as color and line; and have a great time experimenting with art media.

Share the benefit of monthly get-togethers at the "Hancock County 'As I Recall' Storytelling Guild." Those who attend develop techniques that engage listeners. Meetings are informal and open to anyone interested.

Teens in grades 6-12, learn basic financial skills from Nathan Carmany, a certified financial planner. Play games and participate in interactive activities, like setting up a budget, that will help you practice handling money.

Tweens (ages 9-12), bring Pokémon cards and hang out with other players. Learn more ways to have fun with your cards--how to battle, trade, etc.

Adults who love reading novels written for teens are invited to a discussion in New Palestine. January's selection is Rebel of the Sands by Alwyn Hamilton. We encourage you to read the book in advance.

Purl up with a good yarn among this social circle, open to congenial people of all skill levels. Beginning and experienced crafters offer advice on each other's handiwork. Bring supplies for a project.
