Program Description

"Reading is Sweet" during the Hancock County Public Library's winter reading club. Families, teens, and adults are encouraged to find their sweet spot in the comfort of books during February's frigid weather.

Beginning February 1, sign up at hcplibrary.org and log your reading. The clubs end on February 28. Prize drawings take place on March 8. We'll notify winners on the same day.

FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN, read aloud together for a total of four hours and earn a prize for each hour. Track your time through the library's winter reading club links at hcplibrary.org. (Teens and adults may participate in both the family reading club and the teen or adult winter reading club.)

TEENS, each book (including magazines) you read or program you attend earns an entry slip you may enter in the prize box of your choice—plus, there's a drawing every week. The more you log online and enter, the more chances to win.

ADULTS may enter slips in prize boxes for $25 gift cards to Applebee's, Starbucks, Cracker Barrel, and Walmart. You have four ways to recieve a slip when you log one of these options at hcplibrary.org:

  • 10 kids' books read = 1 entry
  • 5 magazines read = 1 entry
  • 1 library event attended = 1 entry
  • 1 adult/teen book read = 1 entry
