Program Description

Can you be screen free for a day? Starting July 1, 2021, kids from birth to age 12 may pick up a screen-free pledge slip at our Greenfield or New Palestine location. Or you may download the screen-free pledge from this calendar.

By signing it, you'll promise to “unplug” from all digital entertainment: TV, DVDs, videogames, computers, phones, tablets or any other screen activities all day on July 14, 2021. You'll promise, instead, to explore other screen-free activities and spend your free time playing, reading, daydreaming, creating, and talking face-to-face with family and friends.

After participating in "Screen-Free Day," list what you did instead of spending time on screens. Then ask your parent or guardian to sign off on it.

Return the slip to the children’s desk at our Greenfield or New Palestine location by Friday, July 23, 2021.

The first 100 people to return their completed slip at each location will receive a coupon from Mama Nita's.

Thank you Mama Nita's for supporting the Hancock County Public Library's screen-free day!
