Program Description

Almost from the beginning of America’s history, church congregations have looked forward to circuit-riding preachers bringing “revival” to their towns.  Dr. Gary Wright recounts decades of experience as a modern-day circuit rider in his inspirational book He Just Showed Up: An Eyewitness to Revival.

Wright will read passages from his work, which appeals to those interested in church history, Indiana religious history, and the intentional practice of renewal.

As a special feature, Hancock County Historian Joseph L. Skvarenina will engage Wright in a dialogue of stories and topics that relate to the local area, such as, the John T. Hatfield Camp in Cleveland just east of Greenfield.

Copies of Wright’s book will be available for signing. Gary Wright appears as part of our Local Author Showcase, featuring monthly readings, signings, and presentations from local and regional authors.
