Program Description

"Reading Takes You Everywhere" during the Hancock County Public Library's winter reading club. People of all ages are encouraged to escape social media, binge-watching, and February's frigid weather for a journey through a good book.

Beginning February 1, sign up at hcplibrary.org and later log how much you've read. The clubs end on February 28. Prize drawings take place on March 1. The library will notify winners on the same day.

Families with children are encouraged to read aloud together for a total of four hours and earn a prize for each hour. They can track their time through the library's winter reading club links at hcplibrary.org.

Teens are also tracking time in their own club. For each hour they read and log online, they'll receive an entry slip in a drawing for one of eight prize packs. The more they read, the more chances to win.

Adults may enter slips in prize boxes for $25 gift cards: Walmart, Buffalo Wild Wings, Cracker Barrel, and Starbucks. Adults have four ways to get a slip when they log one of these options:

  • 10 kids' books read = 1 entry
  • 5 magazines read = 1 entry
  • 1 library event attended = 1 entry
  • 1 adult/teen book read = 1 entry

Watch for guidelines and sign-up links, beginning February 1, on our homepage at hcplibrary.org.
