Program Description
Learn basic skills for surviving in the wilderness from Dylan Allison, Interpretive Naturalist at Fort Harrison State Park. Dylan will focus on the “Survival Big 3”: shelter, water, and food. Learn how to read topo maps and navigate with a compass; review fire-starting and fire safety; and acquire basic hunting, fishing, and foraging skills. A Q&A session and time for hands-on activities will follow the lecture.
This event is the first in our new "Things You Should Know" series. Each month, we'll highlight a new set of skills that you wish you'd learned by now.
