Traveler's Dream

Celebrating their 24th year of performances, award-winning and long-time traditional music collaborators Michael Lewis and Denise Wilson of Traveler’s Dream inhabit that unique musical space that places the contemporary and the traditional side by side. If variety is the spice of life, you’ll surely find much to savor in their mix of exuberant Celtic jigs and reels, spirited songs of French Canada, old-time American favorites, and ballads from both sides of the Atlantic, creating a musical panorama that is joyful, tender and intelligent. Standing alongside these timeless gems are songs that are exceptional for their lyrical beauty and ability to capture what is common in our shared human experience. Within these songs, you’ll hear themes of tolerance, justice, a reverence for the natural world, and a dedication to the idea that music can make the world a better place.

Though their performances are moving and wildly entertaining, the real jewel is the easy rapport they are able to achieve with the audience pretty much as soon as the lights go down. Their instrumentation includes acoustic guitar and vocals, Anglo concertina, Irish flute and whistle, mandolin, octave mandolin, jaw harp, harmonium and foot percussion.
