Teen Summer STEAM Challenge: Ocean in Motion

Teens (grades 6-12) participate in the Teen Summer STEAM Challenge to earn extra prizes. These activities can be found under "Activity Badges" when you register for "Teen Summer Reading Club 2022" in Beanstack. 

Each week a new set of themed activities will be released. You only have to complete one of the activities to earn that week’s badge and a small prize you can pick up at the Children’s Desk at Greenfield or Sugar Creek.

Earn all six badges to be entered to win a microscope!

Just now starting the STEAM challenge? Don't worry! Once a themed week has been released you can do any of the activities to earn that week's badge until August 1. 

Week 2: Ocean in Motion

Between currents, tides, and weather phenomena, the Ocean is constantly in motion. 

Complete at least one of the following activities under the "Ocean in Motion" badge:

• Solve the Ship Shape Mystery.
• Play "Go with the Flow," an online game through NASA.
• Design your own levee.
• Create your own version of the famous woodblock print "Under the Wave off Kanagawa."
• Create tide graphs to show the relationship between tides and the moon.
