Program Description
Honor Veteran's Day this year by donating blood at the Hancock County Public Library in Greenfield. Look for the Indiana Blood Center's bus on the library parking lot.
The IBC is part of a network of blood banks around the country that have an agreement with the Department of Defense to supply blood to soldiers, if called. The center tries to keep a three or four day supply on their shelves.
Donors are welcome to drop in, but IBC can plan for staffing and supplies when appointments are made ahead of time by calling +1 (800) 632-4722.
In order to give blood, individuals must be at least 17 years old (16 with parental consent), weigh at least 110 pounds and be in “good” general health. Be sure to bring a photo ID. It is normally safe to donate whole blood every 56 days.
