Program Description

The Hancock County Master Gardeners will host a "Green Thumb Project" in collaboration with the Hancock County Public Library.

Gardening expert Jo Ellen Meyers Sharp is the featured speaker. She will discuss "Planting for the Birds and the Bees: How to Attract Pollinators."

Successful gardeners encourage birds, bees and butterflies to visit their plants. Learn which native plants are best for attracting these essential pollinators. 

Jo Ellen Meyers Sharp has written her weekly "Hoosier Gardener" column for the Indianapolis Star since 1989. She was the founding editor of Indiana Living Green Magazine and serves as a director for the Indianapolis Museum of Art Horticultural Society. She authored The Visitor's Guide to American Gardens, which covers over 200 American and Canadian public gardens, and co-authored the definitive Indiana Gardener's Guide.
