The Indiana Folk Music Society (also known as The Central Indiana Folk Music and Mountain Dulcimer Society) performs concerts throughout Indiana. Its stated mission is, "to preserve folk music and present it to all generations.” Society members are passionate about sharing their love and talent for the genre with everyone. They play and sing folk, gospel, and old-time music.
The group has mastered a variety of acoustic instruments such as guitar, bass, autoharp, both mountain and hammered dulcimer, mandolin, fiddle, banjo and ukulele. The audience is always invited to sing and clap along. After the performance, musicians invite interested participants to try out their instruments.
