Program Description

Designed as a part of the Rural Cemetery Movement, Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis serves as the country’s third-largest private cemetery.  Walking the lanes, you can find Hoosier poets, Presidents, business leaders, activists, and the everyday Hoosier. Learn about the development of the professionally designed landscape, the history of the people buried there, and what lies ahead for this gem of the state.

Jeannie Regan-Dinius has a life-long interest in history, family history, and research. She earned her Bachelors in Public History from Ball State University, where she also studied anthropology and American Studies. She has her Masters in Urban Planning and Information Management/Library Science from Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis with additional graduate coursework in public history.

She currently is the Director of Historic Preservation at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis. Before coming to Crown Hill, she worked for the State of Indiana as the Cemetery and Burial Ground Registry Coordinator.
