Program Description

Researching your family from the comfort of home comes at a price. Subscriptions to genealogy websites you rarely use are like money down the drain. Yet, being too much of a penny-pincher can impact research for the worse. Reference librarian Paul McNeil will give a guided tour through the library's free research options and beyond.

He'll demonstrate how getting organized can help focus research, which, in turn, makes any money you do spend worthwhile.

McNeil, a reference librarian at HCPL, received a BA in history from Ball State University and MS in library science from Indiana University in Bloomington. He was appointed by the Indiana Genealogical Society to serve as the Hancock County Genealogist and has kept that role since 2015.
