Program Description

The Banisters bring a unique sound to bluegrass, gospel and traditional country with powerful lead vocals, tight harmonies and strong instrumentals.

Roger Banister formed the bluegrass group “Buck's Stove & Range Company” at Ball State University, traveling 15 years full time throughout the Midwest and overseas for the U.S.O. and Department of Defense. Later, Roger became an accomplished mandolin and fiddle player and formed the family band with his wife, Jan Banister, on electric bass and sister, Denise Kocur, on rhythm guitar. Dave Hedrick accompanies on banjo.

This free concert is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Hancock County Public Library through the sale of donated books, DVDs and CDs.
