This is the first week in a 2-week yoga series (May 23 & 30) in New Palestine for both beginning and advanced students. Susan Goodart, a certified yoga teacher and fitness adviser, instructs the classes. Three earlier sessions will be held offsite (May 2, 9 & 16). Check with instructor Susan Goodart (317-408-8338) for locations.

Hatha yoga is a term that refers to any type of yoga that teaches physical postures. It generally means that you will get a gentle introduction to the most basic yoga poses. You should end up leaving class feeling longer, looser, and more relaxed without working up too much of a sweat.

Bring a mat or towel and a small pillow, and wear loose-fitting clothes. People with health issues should speak to their physicians before beginning any exercise.

A $10 fee is paid to the instructor at the May 23 session. The fee covers May 23 & 30 at the library. Those 60+ may attend free.
