A Visit with Teddy Roosevelt

Every leader’s time builds a legacy. When Theodore Roosevelt is remembered and honored, it’s often for his powerful influence in establishing our nation's national parks, monuments, and forests and in leading other conservation efforts. Hoosier actor Gib Young brings Theodore Roosevelt to life during this performance.

Hear stories from Young, in the character of Roosevelt, about the 26^th president’s interest in the wonders of the natural world. Roosevelt will recall the beginnings of the national parks and monuments and his administration’s efforts in preserving places that Americans could be proud of and protect.

Young has performed onsite at Mt. Rushmore and at Devils Tower, the first location to be authorized as a national monument by Theodore Roosevelt under the Antiquities Act of 1906.

Young was born and raised in Lafayette and now resides in Huntington. He is a Navy veteran and Civil War enthusiast who has been a professional historical interpreter of Theodore Roosevelt since 2005.
