Program Description
Students (grades K and up), Professor Watermelon will take you on a journey through the artistic legacy of Indiana’s most famous poet, James Whitcomb Riley. Learn how Riley’s work has influenced artists and writers in the past and even today, including the writers of Raggedy Ann and Andy and the Broadway musical, Annie.
Professor Watermelon will tell how Riley’s poetry and his beloved poodle, Lockerbie, inspired the professor's book George and the Goblin Hole. You'll leave inspired to create your own Hoosier legacy as Indiana embarks on another hundred years of statehood.
